The Secure Prison

He introduces himself at once. "Welcome sirs to possibly the most dangerous posting of your lives. This building used to belong to the Imperial fort but since the rift opened any building not within its curtain walls has been abandoned. So it serves us. The fort is sealed and accessible only by telportation from Cyrodiil City. Do not attempt to enter it or you will be slain instantly. The magic of the most powerful mages of the province are used there so do not allow your falcon to overfly it. It is probably not visible from the air anyway."
He notices that you are all dizzy with the result of teleportation.
"I will try to be brief. The Fort is a top secret establishment and no one can say for sure what goes on there. The prison was also once part of it. There they held those who had perpetrated - or were thought to be about to perpetrate - crimes against the state. The site was chosen for it had a reputation among the locals of being 'evil' and none would come here. As certain aspects of what went on in the prison were of questionable legality this suited the ruling faction admirably. Unfortunately this was one of the first places to be affected when the rift opened suggesting that its reputation might have come from some definite cause. The prison was overrun by daedra. They came from inside and slaughtered AND devoured guards and inmates alike. Some of these were I am sure innocents who has simply irritated the ruling faction, but that is the way of politics. One escaped as the daedra broke the outer defenses of the establishment. He was a mage whose power, though slight, allowed him to teleport to the gate of the fort. He was dying of a terrible disease caught from Oblivion. Everyone was afraid it would spread so I was sent to deal with him. I am immune to diseases owing to - never mind that is another story. He told me what had happened before he died. But then my companions refused to let me back into the fort in case I was 'carrying' the disease. "
Rahlard grunts to show his frustration. "Nothing I could say or do would change their minds. They throw me rations daily but only enough for one. I trust you have rations with you. I understand they were plentiful where you have come from. Your task is to penetrate the prison to find out what it was that made the denizens of Oblivion choose it as one of their first offensives. And if you can to destroy the local leader who, from what I can guess from the description given, is a Were-Daedroth some monstrous mutation. Or perhaps he is just a Daedroth with werewolves in his entourage. The mage was rambling deleriously by now."
But you will need to sleep. "
He shows you the bunks and you know you must make use of them.
Nell, Antehelios, Diego and Oroka arrive from the Alit and hear the same tale.
Suddenly not one of you, even the bird, can stay awake. You crawl to the nearest bunk.

The group awakens completely refreshed feeling wonderful. The sensation lasts for a matter of seconds. Physically you are still fine but something is troubling your mind. You cannot tell exactly what it is but something is different. It will not take you long to discover that every enchanted item item, potion or scroll that helped you detect enchantment has been taken and those among you who knew any spell to that effect has suddenly forgotten it. Someone has been into your room. Who? And is stealing the items the only thing they have done?
The obvious answer as to 'who?' is the Rahlard Rich but when you go to find him he has been knocked unconscious. He is alive but weak, a healing potion or spell will revive him and perhaps he can tell you something of what happened.
As well as one of you doing this, everyone must perform such natural bodily functions as all creatures do (off the thread please) and then deal with such nuisances as hunger and thirst.
And so you do - or do you?

Nell looked over to where Rahlard was sleeping. Nell expected to see the ruffian curled up next to the missing items; instead he was lying on his face, apparently unconscious. Nell noticed a small patch of crimson by his head. Who ever did this must have caught him by surprise. Nell carefully turned Rahlard on his back and placed him on his cot. Propping his up with a bedroll, Nell proceeded to examine the wound. He had only minor skills in healing; enough to tell that if he didn't do something soon, this man would most certainly die. All he could think of was to try and scrounge up the right ingredients for a healing potion.
Nell secured his sword and threw his hood over his head and stepped out of the dormitory. It was barely dawn and the night chill still lingered. Nell only had to trek a short distance off before finding the right ingredients. It would be a low wield potion but it should do the trick. Nell retrieved his alchemic tools from his pack and was then able to quickly mold the raw ingredients into a low wield health potion. This he administered to Rahlard. The potion would take some time for the effects of the potion to kick in, so Nell decided that he would wait until the others woke up, then, together they would check on Rahlard. And then maybe they could get some answers. Nell knew one though; they were going to be very upset finding out that some of their items were stolen. What else was missing besides his own dagger he wondered? That answer would have to wait.

He remembered being teleported here with Nell and Oroko and suddenly there was a 4th there with them being greeted by Rahlard. Antehelios he thought is name was from the tavern. Thats him there and Oroko only Nell was out of his cot. Diego was unsure if the travel had worn him out, or just the building anxiety within him. He hadn't felt alive or happy in some time, but he was beginning to feel content and willing to go on. Thats what the last few days have meant, promise of life again.
Quickly but quietly he arose, strapping a sword to his waist he strode over to Oroko and Antehelios "Wake up you two, though I sense no danger something is surely amiss."

"Fetcher!" He grunted and hissed as he rubbed the small bump forming on his brow. Oroko hadn't had anything with detect enchantment upon it, so all of his items were still perfectly fine and untouched. He plucked his gondolier helm from a little hook on the side of the bunk bed and put it on as he stood up and stretched.
He looked down and saw Nell tending to Rahlard, who was very unconscious.
"Oh, fantastic. Hey! Old man! Wake up!" He gave Rahlard a nudge on the leg with the tip of his boot as Nell tried to help him. "I was rather hoping that enchanting little Bosmer might be coming with us. She's certainly a fe steps up from this old goat," Oroko sighs and turns from the unconscious guard to look around the dorm at the other occupants. There are five he does not recognize, which means Fairgoth must have sent somebody after them at the last second. He is idly wondering which one it is when his stomach growls.
"Uh, I don't suppose anybody happened to bring any food, did they?" Oroko had come plenty prepared to fight, but not to have a meal. No matter though. If there was food, that was fine. If not, his time in the Morag Tong had taught him how to go without food for days at a time. But water...that might become a problem pretty soon.
There were bigger problems at hand than that though. For starters, Rahlard had mentioned some kind of were-Daedroth, and werewolves. That sounded bad. What really concerned him was the so-called disease that the Imperial was apparently immune to, somehow. Oroko leaned against his bunk and waited for Rahlard and is companions to rouse themselves so they could get underway.

As Sesmar hurried to the man’s side, the door, leading into the barracks, swung open. Suddenly, Sesmar realized this may be the very same person that had knocked Rahlard out. Taking up a defensive position between the unconscious figure of Rahlard and the newcomer, Sesmar asked, “Who are you and what business do you have with my companions?”

"...Food?" Antehelios heard a Dunmer wearing a gondolier cap who was also in the room. He remembers him as one of Diego's companions in the Alit as well. Then it occurs to him that another person was with Diego, another Dark Elf in leather armor. Antehelios peered around the bunk, but could see no sight of the 2nd Dunmer.
"Well, aren't we the motley crew thrown into the mix?" Antehelios muttered to himself as he got up. "I greet you all, though I wish I were doing so under more pleasant circumstances," he said as he dusted himself off and adjusted the Dark Brotherhood Armor underneath the black velvet cloak he wore. "I am Antehelios, a Nord with a bit of a memory problem, and a penchant for stealing the chastity of maidens, priestesses, and wealthy mistresses. I guess the fair Fairgoth sent me here to round out your group."
As Antehelios took stock of his belongings, he continued to explain himself to the others. "I'm not a bad shot with a bow," he said as he strapped on his Elven bow and the quiver full of arrows on his back along with his backpack. "And I can hack and slash with the best of them," as he hooked the scabbard containing his ebony short sword to his waist, and attached the scabbard with his katana to his back. He noticed as he did this that the katana he now had was different from the one he had before. It was now Ebony instead of Daedric, and Antehelios vaguely remembered Fairgoth saying something about "No Daedric items..."
"So that's basically who I am, more or less," Antehelios said with a wry smile on his face as he turned back to his companions. Of course, that was not the whole truth. He neglected to tell them of his magic ring, his aptitude for Destruction and Conjuration, though he rarely used his magical prowess, and the bone blade in his boot. Antehelios wanted to keep a few things about himself obfuscated, so that he might have some surprises in store for his companions, or anything else they might encounter.
"Here," he said to Oroko as he handed him some scrib meat he had taken from his backpack. "I believe I was able to procure some rations before I got whisked off with you. Tell me, what's going on? Where's the other Dunmer?"

"Hey, take it easy there tough guy. Nobody here is your enemy. That guy there is Nell, and he's with me, Diego, and Antehelios here. We came from the Drunken Alit for the same purpose as i'm guessing you have: to fight the monsters of Oblivion and get a little cash. Well, a lot of cash really. i don't get out of bed for anything little. Anyway, just calm down and let Nell here do his thing, he's an alchemist and it appears as though he is attempting to heal our currently unresponsive 'host' from whatever felled him," Oroko said.
He turned to Antehelios and nodded at him. "Glad to see that you managed to pack some provisions. I was so eager to go out and fight something i forgot the basics. What a rookie mistake. I'l bet even moreton would have remembered..." he trailed off and sat down on his bunk as he chewed his food.
"Anyway, as far as what's happening now, i'm as much in the dark as you are. After Rahlard there explained the current situation to us about the fort, the prison, and al lthat, I went to bed, same as the rest of you. When I woke up, Rahlard was already unconscious," he rubs the bump on his head and looks to the side. "Also, it would seem that somebody may have tried to assault me in my sleep, but only managed to give me a mild thump on the head."
"As for the other Dunmer, Nell, he's over there along with our unconscious host and Mr. tough guy," Oroko jerked his thumb in their direction.
