I've seen many mods out there for monsters as playable races, one mentionable one that I like is the Xivilai.

But I noticed that some biped monsters still aren't playable (I.E. Goblins).
Also other races that come to mind that should be centaurs (even though they aren't in the game), spider daedras (think about it for a second on how cool/popular they'd be), minotaurs (just a thought).

Any other ideas? Or Mod Makers wanna add to this topic?

the reason for that is quite simple: the body

take a look aat all the player character races, what do they have in common? they're sapient (they stand up straight), all of them have four fingers with two thumbs, feet with five toes, and the only differences between them in shape is scale and the possibility of a tail.

it's the way the oblivion engine works - you have the Player mesh and that's what you have to work with. modders have been trying to get around that ever since the game came out. one modder has had moderate success with argonian feet, but there's no way we could make a goblin or minotaur race without some heavy bypasses

Half true, half false. There are already race mods that work around this issue, by having a scripted armor/body to the existing skeleton.

I can think of three off hand. The Gatekeeper Race, The Xenomorph, and The famous "Predator race".

Plus, some monsters, like the Gray Ogre, or the atronaches are upright.

Well, I'm trying to recriut a team to work on my Clannfear Playable mod. Clannfears are relatively easy, cause their biped and can easily have a upright posture to fit the player mesh. Goblins are already playable. Check Elder Scrolls Planet. It's a new mod. But, you can't wear armor. The solution is scripted armor just for that race.

Can't forget a minotaur race! All you would have to do is pretty much make the hands/hooves/tail textures, and a head mesh.
