I will soon need to equip my alchemy lab. However, it seems there are different sorts of apparatus, the normal sort, that has to be taken into inventory each time it is used and some that does not seem to have to be picked up to be used (the first type seems to be the only one in the CS). Added to which, the ONLY type I have ever seen as not having to be picked up are a master's set.
To be honest, I am not sure if that sort of set could be used by any level of expertise so I would appreciate someone giving me some feedback on this problem.

Any level of user can use any kind of apparatus, and make better potions as a result.
I don't know how to make them un-pickuppable, but I know it's doable. I've seen it done in a few mods.
I also know that you can make them even more powerful than the "Master" series. I use a mod now that gives me a set of "Uber" apparatus which makes some mighty fine concoctions.

In that case, 'Apparatus' is a scripted activator. The attached script gives you alchemy apparatus, then when you're done with potion-making, it removes apparatus given from your inventory.(Check 'Static Alchemy Mod')
