So this could have probably gone into three different areas but I thought this one the most appropriate. So without getting to personal I thought peeps could list their occupations. I have played with people all across the spectrum from doctors, students, unemployed, lawyers, pilots, a congressmen, and a truck driver, and each and every person I have played with or met has been interesting to say the least thanks. So throw it out there peeps what do you do? On a side note it would be interesting to see what the hard core modders do for work and how that correlates to their real life job/career. I think this aspect would be most interesting to me because I can only guess that modding takes an incredible amount of time to accomplish, so does what they do for work help or hinder that. Thanks.

I am retired US Army, but currently working for Qwest Communications as a telephone technician, MS Certified HSI Networking Technician...put in simple and complex networking for a variety of consumers. Really am an old man, but know my way around any computer, network and the internet....my motto is "If I can fix it, it aint broke!"
Love the people that I get to meet, detest the severely mentally challenged dolts that make the decisions for the company, based entirely on budget with no concern for the needs of the customer.

I am a student and still studying. 2,25 years done 1,75 to go, but I'm probably going to do another year after it.
It's a wide-ranged course with parts of management, law, marketing and corporate economics. I'm enjoying it and I'm glad I made the right choice. Lately I've got some trouble with the system not getting my grades through and just busy colleges, but now I'm almost off to the next period. I'm now in a stage that you'll decide which way to go, which is quite difficult but also fun. When I told my study-councilor a few things about flash and websites he was amazed that I got in this type of eduction, but I'm actually at the right place..it's just something I can keep in reserve or specialize in, although I don't want that now. I like the things I do right now too much!
Modding is a form of relaxation to me, although Ranokoa has pushed me to otherwise sometimes . The fun is though, the more busy I get outside of here.. the more I get done concerning modding so it actually doesn't hinder me unless I've got something really big or important to finish.. or my college forgets to record/register my grades again .

Former US Marine, Currently semi retired. ( That means I get to sit at home and wait for people to call me for consulting jobs) However I have had several careers ranging from Motor & controls field engineer, Fortran programmer, Security systems project manager, Owner and partner of a security company specializing in video surveillance. Service manager for a manufacturer of optical and computerized measuring instruments, owner and operator of a small VCR and computer repair shop, Technical Service Engineer for a manufacturer of dental equipment. And probably several others that I forgot to list. Most of these required extensive travel, both domestic and foreign. I have lived in 3 countries, visited a dozen more and been in all except 2 US States. (So far). I also have 8 grandchildren with a 9th due any day.

Professional gypsy-whatever... mostly a soldier (former Infantryman, currently a combat medic) but have also been a cook, a bartender, a ditchdigger, a jewelry salesman, a hospital administrative assistant, a stage electrician, a musician, a waiter...
What do I like about my job (the Army)?
Steady employment, decent pay, good benefits, good retirement plan, foreign travel, option to change jobs coming up within the next few months.
What do I dislike about it?
My soon-to-be-ex-wife couldn't adjust to the lifestyle, stopped trying to adjust, and stopped trying to participate in our relationship in less than four months of being with me in Korea.

Nothing too exciting about my life, I'm a housewife. The boyfriend works anywhere from 12-15 hours a day (he's a commercial roofer). He likes it that I stay home and have the apartment all nice and dinner ready and that he doesn't have to lift a finger when he gets home. It's getting cold though...so he'll be off all winter. It's nice in someways and others it isn't. No kids and not having them haha, we have a black kitty cat and some fish
I don't dislike anything about what I do, I sometimes get bored...but I crochet, play video games, listen to music, tend to sleep a lot though.

Systems Administrator, servers/network/work stations etc. I'm a one man show in a small company. Not much I don't like about it to be honest. The users can do stupid things but that keeps me in a job and for the most part they do try to learn. Like others here I've done a lot of things in my life from working a commercial shrimp boat in Texas when I was younger to running teams on construction jobs to bartending...
Two sons, two grand daughters. it's a good life.
