Hi there

like the description says...i´ve got a problem with spells i created myself:

i wanted to create a spell at the arcane university and it worked absolutely perfect at the
beginning...BUT...when i closed the game and continued the next day my spell was gone...
i´ve created spells before and they are still there but since i´ve become arch-mage
(i think it was since then) my spells disappear every time i close the game

maybe it is because i completed the mages guild quests or maybe these spells disappear after
i reached a certain level...i just dunno why

so...does anyone of you know what exacty happened? please post every idea or something
that could help to fix my problem

Try this and see if the problem continues:

• Disable all mods--every last one!
  
• Start the game and load your current save
  
• Make a spell at the spellmaking altar, as normal.
  
• Go find a bed and sleep your character for at least a day.
  
• Check to see if the spell still exists and is castable.
  
• Save the game as a different save.
  
• Restart the game leaving all mods still disabled.
  
• Check to see if the spell still exists.

If everything is alright at this point (the spell(s)) still exist, exit the game and start enabling mods either one at a time or in small groups.. Start the game with your recent save and keep checking to see if the spell is gone. If so, you should be able to narrow down which mod is causing your issue.

Should that not work, for whatever reason (and enabling all the mods doesn't cause the spell to disappear), do this in reverse. That is, create a new spell and then sleep. Make a new save and then start removing mods, one by one (or in small groups), restarting and loading your recent save each time until you determine which mod is causing the problem.

Chances are you should be able to discover what is causing the problem--I'd start by enabling or disabling mods that deal with magic or the Arcane University in ANY way first, as you'll likely find one of those to be the culprit.

Beyond that, you're on your own. I couldn't guess what might cause the problem if you have no mods at all!

I had that same problem once. I read somewhere that it was a Shivering Isles bug. If you installed SI but didn't install the SI patch, that could be the problem. Once I installed the patch, the spells stayed.

i already found out that my mods are not the prob. i only use 4 mods and none of them
as about magic . besides i created spells while using those mods before and theyre still there
but thanks anyway for your help

yeah its possible that SI is causing it . i had several probs in previous rounds before but for i
installed Si and knights of the nine together i couldnt figure out ... is it possible that these probs
start at a certain level? because they were not always there . it started when i began to lv up
my char
still Si could be the cause ... so ... could you tell me where to find that patch ?

The latest patch will work. Of course, if you're having GOTY, you won't need to patch... By the way, what about your custom enchanted items? Do they disappear, too? If that, you have to patch your game, for you may have F-Bomb already.

after installing that patch the spells stayed
