After reading through the feedback provided for the new commenting system I have released an update to the system that should hopefully satisfy the worries expressed with the new system while still providing a mini-forum ability to those uploaders who are looking for some better and more organised feedback on their files.

I have brought back the old "Comments" tab on files while adding a new tab to the file pages called "Discussions". All simple comments and feedback can be directed to the "Comments" tab as before while the mini-forum discussion area can be used for more precise and topical discussion should it be necessary.

The discussion area can be disabled in your file attributes without affecting the commenting in the "Comments" thread. The aim was to please those authors who wanted a consolidated location for all posts as well as those authors who liked to split discussion in to different threads.

The file management page has been updated to accommodate this change. The total number of comments in the "Comments" tab makes a return, as well as a new attribute that shows how many discussion topics there are for each file.

Also worth a mention, posts made by the uploader of the file will now be highlighted by a gold border so users can easily pick out their posts.

As always feedback is welcome.

You never stop working do you? I believe that is why you have one of the best sites for Morrowind/Oblivion Mods and other goodies. biggrin.gif

Thank you, the quick comment check at the Manage-files was something many people started to miss. Those gold borders are really a nice addition. Good job on all...again...

Has this only been implemented for TESNexus so far and not Fallout 3 Nexus? I haven't noticed a change in any of my file's comments sections so far.

I was just thinking about this last night and wondering when it was going to come about. I was thinking it would be nice to have separate sections in the comments tab to sort complaints and requests from regular comments and endorsements.

Great! Love it!

@theLeeHarvey:
I'm sure it will be adapted to the FO3 nexus soon. Once the feature has been tested enough on the tesnexus, that is.
That means less bugs and work for Dark0ne.

Great! Even though I didn't mind much, I love having the comment count back to the file management page. smile.gif

@ TheLeeHarvey - The separate Sections on the comment page was implemented a while ago, so I believe it should be on fo3Nexus as well, but I wouldn't know for sure.

This update mainly adds back the comment count to the file management page. smile.gif

Yay! I liked the old commenting system. It mainly made it easier to skim all of my uploads at once for new comments and saved a lot of time rather than having to click on each of my files individually, then click again to get to the comments...Thanks!
