I wondered about that for quite some time, i think 3Dog mentions it at some point (or some other NPC).

anyone ever find something they could be looking for ?

I passed pretty much every spot of the ruins and concentrated on areas with high sup encounters, but never found anything worthwile.

so did i waste my time on something which does not exist or did i waste my time by not finding something i should have found by now ?

also sorry if this was asked before

I suspect they are radiation junkies and I think that the Vernon Square pit with the plane crashed in it is a hot spot. Keeps them fresh.

well they don't have to go to the DC ruins, they got like +900 rads in front of their door

I'm curious about this too, I haven't explored the bunker that's in the trenches all over the mall yet though, so maybe there's something in there, they really seem to have some sort of big base there for some reason. Everywhere else in the ruins they are just scattered in camps.

I haven't seen any other type of area or base around Vault 87 that might show or explain how they get from there to downtown DC either.

actually, its been a while since i visited that bunker, but if i remember it correctly theres nothing in it except a few sups and its not really a bunker its more like an underground passage way. it only has 2 entrances (or 1 entrance and one exit) which both are in the center of the mall and its not really all that long either.

If you mean the one with the plane crashed in it, it is a high radiation pit, with dead end bunker with stuff, and if you try to go in there you better have lots of RadAway handy. RadX is not going to be much help.

It's implied that they're looking for more FEV samples. They're more likely to find them in the DC ruins than out in the wasteland, thus, the reason they're there in bulk.

Yeah, sometimes you hear them talking amongst themselves about having to find "more green stuff" because the "bucketheads kill too many of us.. need to make more"

Now, just why they've gotten the idea that somewhere in DC they might find some FEV laying around, well, your guess is as good as mine.

well, that does make sense (I prolly should sneak around more and check out what sups are talkin bout before I kill em all).

as for why they think FEV virus could be in DC, well it gots the Vault-tec headquarter and they did order vault 87 to be a FEV test facility, so it is likely to assume that if there's a larger amount of FEV in DC it is somewhere close to the Headquarter.

anyways thanks guys (and gals ?), this does give me some peace a mind :D
