ok, i am doing the quest, Trouble on the Homefront, following the Prima guide which says there is this item called "father's books" and they're in his "laboratory". now the question is:

where the hell is the laboratory and the book?

i searched around the web, some said the clinic is the "laboratory".. i went to search the clinic but i dont find the book anywhere.

anyone has any idea?

Okay, the laboratory or clinic is the place where Amata and the rebels are staying. Its the same room.

fathers books are located in a safe thats hidden behind the quote of revelations. I think its about eye level and located in the same room as Andy after he was temporarily assigned as the vault doctor... and then reassigned cleaning duty to get the blood and corpse out of the room (he fails even at that).

yup i searched there before, what i received are: a Schematic to the Rock-It Launcher and a recording from father and some caps...

there is no such item as Father's Books...

Prima is based on an earlier version of the game. There is no father's books.

Prima also has outdated descriptions of a lot of the perks, enemies, etc.

Sounds like Prima's continuing their fine tradition of providing Official Strategy Lies.

I hit the same problem. Also, in one of the vaults (don't remember which one) the Prima guide says there are 2 Gas Masks that help to reduce the affects of the chemical fog. They aren't there.

And, the books that are supposed to be in Burkes and Tenpenny's rooms in the Tower are switched. Instead of Tenpennys' its in Burkes, and visa-versa.

That's the problem with the strategy guides. They are being written while the game is being made. So, there are game changes that don't make it into the book.
