External Hard Drive Computer noob question

Are they something like a USB drive, you just drag and drop stuff, or are they something more?

You can get a external case for your HD no problem, and its usb. mine is a bit large and noisy but hey its great for data backups and other things that you would like to move around.

Yes with one drawback you need to plug it in through a outlet, then plugit in through the usb port on the comp.
