The Xbox 360 breaks five times as often as its closest failure-prone competitor, the PlayStation 3, a print edition-only Game Informer survey found.

The poorly manufactured, red ring of death-prone console has a 54.2 percent failure rate, compared to 10.6 percent for the PS3 and the Wii's 6.8 percent........

I don't know the method used to come up with the figure but it makes pretty alarming reading, any other device with such a poor failure rate would surely have been recalled. I guess I'm lucky, I've only had one die (E-74).

My 360 red rings a lot, I have to try to turn it on several times before it works. Other than that it works fine.

Thats a very good question, why haven't they recalled them, its only bad business. Its amazing that they got away from it, well not really amazed more like outraged :verymad: .

Wow-- who'd've thought that Microsoft would put out a faulty product then act as if there was nothing wrong with it....... :whistling:

The problem is somewhat exaggerated, but I'm surprised that they haven't ran into any trouble yet.

Blasted RRODs... I had to send my 360 to be repaired twice.
These days I usually get games for the PS3 instead of the 360.
