I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop that can run Oblivion(with Qarl's textures) and Fallout 3 on high settings with no lag, and very high FPS. I realize that it's going to be expensive. I'm not very computer savvy, so does anyone have any idea on what sort of machine could do this? I was thinking of either this: http://www.alienware...ode=SKU-DEFAULT or this: http://www.dell.com/...u...;l=en&s=dhs

I'm not sure what options to get, but it seems that the M17 is less expensive and has better options and possibly performance than the M17X o_O

I wouldn't get dell they have horrible backwards compatibility, so bad that you can't find the drivers for most of there products, even the new models. Dell likes to screw you over alot, when it comes to installing xp or windows 7, or any other then one already installed.

personal experience.

What do you mean by horrible backwards compatibility? Would I not be able to get 32 bit? I heard Oblivion doesn't run well with Vista 64 bit.

I don't care about those. Windows XP is outdated, and Windows 7 is very similar to Vista.

Actually far from it, windows 7 is very much like vista, but with a compatibility rate much higher then xp ever did. trust me i am a beta tester and i am going to get it as soon its released, its that good.

Well, that laptop has a free upgrade to Windows 7. I'm more concerned with the actual gaming aspects than stuff such as this.

I've been looking at the alienware ones, and i would say to get one of them. There are three, and all three are good.

By three, you mean the M17, the M17x, and the M15? Yes, they all seem good. The M17 looks better than the M17x though for some reason.
