And really, the answer to clean water in the wasteland is a G.E.C.K.? The thing that the people of Vault City almost tossed because of it's uselessness.
Little Lamplight, where are all these kids coming from? Do children born in Big Town get sent back to Little Lamplight? Do they grow out of the ground? How do they maintain their ranks?
How is it possibly for all this food to be left over after 200 years? would you really want to drink 200 year ole Coke? Is it some strange Ziploc tech of da future? does it have some amazing preservatives? Does it taste so good it defies the logic of age?

How, even though i quite learly killed the darn mutie, he gets up again and flys.
How putting 200 mines in a bath doesnt blow it up when i shoot them.
Why theres god mode for NPCS, its stupid, shooting amata 100 times in the head with a fat man just wont kill her.

Little lamplight is a mystery for sure, as if the story writers forgot to add some backup to where the children come from, cause Little lamplight would eventually be empty.

Hell, the whole point of FO2 was finding a geck to save your village from starvation, so it isn't exactly a minor piece of equipment in any scenario.

As for Vault 87, yeah that is a puzzle. Unless they have another way of entering it that we just can not discover.
As for the unkillable ones. Well obviously it is for game integrity. It annoyed me a little at first too (also the fact you immediately knew who to talk to and who you could ignore), but for the sake of the story you need to make some sacrifices. And while the main quest is not all that interesting, it is the most important.
As for not being able to blow things up, there is no excuse for that really. We should be able to bomb out houses and stuff, make some real changes to the world
What really gets me though... where are all the people? There are way too few to even maintain a population in ALL the wastelands. That bothered me in Oblivion as well. It's not like PCs of today can't handle it. And you could make it adjustable maybe for low-end machines. I mean just add a lot of non important people, so it all seems more alive (and more mayhem can ensue

"The GECKs are a miracle; if only that they should work at all."
The G.E.C.K is basically a fertilization toolkit, without the hindsight of what DA FUTURE would be like (Super Mutants, Deathclaws and The Enclave. OH MY!) The problem is that most of the seeds and fertilization things in the G.E.C.K. are ancient and dated. I will admit that Vault City was rather dependent on it, but only because they basically broke it down for parts. The idea its a thing of miracle is silly and the quest to retrieve it a rather pointless quest.
All to lead up to the battle with the enclave. (in both games, really)
HOW DA FRAK DOES IT CLEAN WATER?!
You bring up some good points though.

And how come the terminals in some ruins still run? Dont tell me they have been turned on since 200 years? No power loss once in a while?

I was thinking that when I came across some vintage '96 bottles of Coke at a flea market a couple days ago... for a dollar I figured I'd see what some genuine warm, old & flat 'Nuka' tasted like... Stupid Fallout influencing what I do IRL
Truth be told, it wasn't that bad.
This is coming from someone who makes hardtack because he likes it though, so not everyone would agree I'm sure...
