Importing FO3 Meshes Official comment topic

Go to a model folder.

Open two copies of the same model.

Right-click the model.

Select to Block>Remove Branch.

Go to the File menu. (top left of window)

Select Import>Import .OBJ.

It will ask "ObjImport". Press OK.

Select the .OBJ you want to import. Press Open.

You will now see your model.

Find the NiTriShapeData node.

Right-click the NiTriShapeData node.

Select Block>Copy.

Go to the other open NifSkope window.

Right-click the model.

Skip this step if your mesh doesn't use NiTriStrips.
Select Mesh>Triangulate.

Find the NiTriShapeData node.

Select Block>Paste Over.

You will now see your model again- except it is now in the correct .NIF format!

Find the BSShaderTextureSet node.

Change the texture paths in the Block Detail pane (bottom window) as needed.

Now just save your .NIF and use it.
Do not save the contents of the other NifSkope window.
