On the forum of the Tamriel Rebuilt Project (from now on referred to as TRP) there is a discussion going on concerning mounts and if they should be included. Most think that it is impossible to inlcude mounts of any kind which wouldn't look crappy, because it is just to difficult to make that kind of animations with the Morrowind Engine.

Some pointed out that there are pluggins with mounts, but they are not in the quality wished by the devs of TRP.

I remembered that once it was mentioned that MEMod would include mounts in the final version (the MEMod-guide, if I remember correctly). So my question is, did you acctually get anywhere with those mounts or do you also think now that it is impossible to create them for Morrowind?

As far as I know, they were not done. At least not in any form that would have been considered "finished".

That's actually a question the scripters would be best placed to answer - Wookie and/or Greywolf might be able to tell you how far working on mounts had progressed.

As you may be aware, there was a certain degree of cooperation between MEMod and Druid: The Legend, since the DTL senior devs were also part of the MEMod team, and mounts were, I believe, one of the projects which was to be used by both projects. Even though mounts were not completed before MEMod was terminated they may still feature in DTL.

I seem to recall having heard discussion about various scripting functions related to rideable horses which seemed to indicate a certain degree of confidence that this was indeed doable. However, as I said before, you'd have to speak to the people who were actually working on this project.

Well, the guys on TR won't believe me, when they here this. Most of the scripters there thoroughly believe that it is not possible to make mounts look good and that it is no good bothering to try and only a waste of time.

But, if there would be proof of such a claim, it would be quite a different matter...
