I normally go to one big LAN party a year. It's an excuse to just kick back and do some seriously long, geeky gaming sessions with folks all across the UK. i36 is a part of Multiplay's iSeries in the UK. They hold 3 events a year where up to 2,000 folks bring their PC's to a large agricultural centre near Coventry in the UK to play games and attempt to socialise from Friday to Monday.

For me the LAN events are an oppurtunity to meet face to face with the folks I play online games with across the country. I know their voices and their game personas, but it's good to meet up face to face, have a few drinks together and get to know them all properly. I'm an avid Eve Online player and I've been able to meet up with 22 of my fellow corpies that I fly (or spin ships in Stations) with every day.

Lots of folks are here for "serious" pro-gaming; entering tournaments with £1,000 - £10,000 prizes with their clans, but for most it's just an oppurtunity to escape reality for a few days and catch up with the folks they play with over the internet. If anyone is here at i36 I'd love to hear from you.

Good old lan parties smile.gif I've been to i9 and i15. wish i had the time to go to more of them but I would recommend Multiplays Lan parties to anyone!

One thing I will recommend is that your kit your pc out for good cooling. As you can guess 2000 pcs makes a room quite hot smile.gif

God i would have gone if i knew it was happening, things like this should be posted on an events page. its always difficult to find gaming events in the UK, Eurogamer was good - anybody go to that??

I'm guessing that's Stoneleigh you're referring to? I've been there a few times but not for anything as cool as a LAN party :/
