Good hardware, poor perfomance?

Hey all, someone help a hardware inept,
Right now I'm currently running Windows XP on an Athlon Tbird with 512 SDRAM on a WG 30Gb drive, and I've got a GeForce 3 Ti300. Every other game I have (nothing with faster crunching than UT, I'm afraid) runs smoothly, but Morrowind jerks really badly at 1024 x 768 (also desktop res), regardless of location, environment, characters/creatures, and weather.
Also, my overall graphics quality is pretty poor for that resolution. What do I not have set right? One of you smart kids has to help me! ^_~

Turn real time shadows off, update all your stuff (drivers, windows, etc.)

Follow this guide

Download this program

See if it runs better. If it does, feel free to go here and give me some gold, preferably in multiples of 2.5

EDIT: Well, you'd have to be registered for that last bit, whats stopping you? Its free!

Yea, that Tweek Town guide really helped me out with my Morrowind problems. Most of the times changing the FPS really helps out.

But like Soth said, update all of your drivers. If you don't know what drivers you have download SiSoft Sandra. It's a nifty little utility that shows you what you have.

And with that said... it's my 100th post! *pat myself on the back*
