Has anyone found a wormhole yet? Was it difficult to find? What was the experience like? What ship is recommended? Are there pirates (players) waiting there? Are the sleepers tough? Where to look for one i.e. anywhere and everywhere or some selected systems?

Am thinking of fitting up my buzzard and going exploring for wormholes later. Any advise would be welcome.

Indeed I have. I didn't go in, as I was in my most expensive ship (a T2-fitted ishkur), and some distance from my HQ, but it was pretty easy to find. This was the evening after the patch, so everyone in the game was looking for em - when I warped to it, there were literally half a dozen other players hanging around outside, several of them pirates. A few jumped in, no idea what happened to them. But I would advise going in with a VERY cheap ship if you do go in, and make sure it has probes and a launcher - if the wormhole collapses, you need to search for another way out.

Once this war's over (yes, another war...), I plan to find one, and go explore it in a velator, just to see whats in them.

I think I'll stick with my buzzard with a covert ops cloaking device- which gives you a reasonable chance of evading action.

Are wormholes 0.0 space?

You and E-UNI and wars!

Wormholes arent any security space. So yeah, for all intents and purposes, its just non-claimable 0.0.

My advice is still bring a cheap frigate with a cloak/probes, just in case - wouldn't want to lose your buzzard, especially considering those sleepers could easily one-shot it :P

And this war is against privateers... who are partly responsible for making me quit eve way back when, by keeping uni wardecced for 8 weeks - so revenge time :D

First: the new probing system is GREAT. The second system I scanned, I found a wormhole. It took a while as I was trying to learn the process- but this is actually enjoyable now- with bearable scan times (7 sec for me), and requires more brains than waiting around for 240 sec.

The first thing I saw was a capsule coming out of the wormhole! This was not encouraging. But I HAD to go in, which I promptly did. There was nothing on the other side. Then the fellow who'd left in the capsule came back in in a buzzard (like me). We struck a conversation, fleeted up, and spent the next hour or so exploring the place.

There were 10 cosmic signatures in the system. We found 2 wormholes that led to high sec Amarr space, 16 and 17 jumps respectively from my entry point in Caldari space. We found a pathetic asteroid belt with the usual high sec ore. While hanging at the belt and scanning, 5 rats appeared, and we warped out.

In the meantime my mate had brought an orca in the system using his alt- and on his 4th entry/exit he got the message that the wormhole was collapsing. 250 million Kg. x 4 did it. We ran and just got out in time, and saw the wormhole collapsing behind us.

Too many jumps totally de-stabilized the hole:
