If nothing happens when pressing a when asked to, you havenīt installed Obse correctly or are not lauching the game via Obse.

Obse is needed as much as Oblivion itself to run the mod, it comes with itīs own readme so read it when you install it. wink.gif

If I remember correctly that camera problem comes could be related to running DR5 with 3rd person animation in 1st person mod. Itīs incompatible, but DR6 is based on it.

It contains more info once I get to it, and a link to a VIDEO with some fighting from DR6. smile.gif

Itīs a not a "trailer", much is missing but it has itīs moments. tongue.gif

From the readme:

---
THIS MOD REQUIRES OBLIVION SCRIPT EXTENDER v15 or higher!!!

Start Oblivion either with Oblivion Mod Manager, or by double clicking obse_loader.exe. If Obse is not used to launch the game EVERY TIME, the mod WILL NOT WORK.
---

Also, the game will not start if HorseCombat Master is not active. This is how Oblivion works, if the esm file is missing and the esp file active, itīs caused "missing master" situation and the game will not load.

Yes, horse combat is disabled in 5.0, but the master file is still required by the esp. I didnīt remove the requirement since the horse combat was under update and supposed to come back in an update. As it happens, this update is going to be v6.0, hopefully before Christmas (I really would like that myself, playing the game with 6.0, so Iīll do my best wink.gif )

Sorry but I cannot keep up with this forums answering the same questions over and over again, if I want to get any modding done. I have said this before; Iīm sorry, itīs either full support or actual updates, and cannot manage both. sad.gif

I do keep a thread on Bethsoft forums, where I do my best to help people and give updates to progress on new versions.

When writing this, the thread is full and I havenīt opened a new one yet. Iīll do that tonight.

Because TwilightMoon cannot be posted to on Bethsoft forums, where he posted the message below to me, I guess I have to post it here:

[TwilightMoon]i know you havent even started making dr 6 and that 5 is abandoned, i have already warned everyone on the nexes. but i want to knpow one thing, why lie about it and say its in the making, then that it is almost ready, when clearly its never being made. are you just sick in the head or is this how you treat everyone. i hate you for not respoindfing to anyone and then lying to us all.[/TwilightMoon]

Iīm sorry I know that was not fair, laughing like that, but really you just so wrong. I donīt know if you should be happy or angry about that? smile.gif

DR6 is really being made, itīs closer and closer to release, but months and months delayed from when I wanted it to be ready. Iīm a student, and I also work as a programmer nowadays, so life kinda got in the way. At the moment I have maybe 4-6h time to mod each week. Thatīs about ten times less than at some point in the past. Right now I trying to write a god damn paper on Abloy, itīs soooo interesting you know.

Why am I saying all this? Not to convince you, thatīs for sure, itīs more like Iīm absolutely amused by you people who from time to time appear on these forums out of nowhere to yell at long time modders, thinking that you have any idea about whatīs going on. You should have at least followed the discussion here before drawing your conclusions, cause HERE is where it all happens. I donīt have time to post on multiple sites, so I have stated I only keep a thread and aswer questions here, as best as I can.

The latest thread got closed due to 200-post limit last weekend, Iīm meaning to open a new one when I get some spare time to format the first post - the latest one wasnīt opened by me and it was a bit confusing. But you can find that thread if you want, just click my user name, you should see a link like "posts by user" or something, it wasnīt my thread technically (so donīt click "find topics by user") but thatīs like that last place I have posted, so that route should work.

So again why am I posting you all this? I really donīt know, I guess Iīm curious about the possibility that it would suddenly hit you like a hammer that instead of stating something and disappearing, instead of not ever posting anything etc, thereīs all this discussion going on every week here. Steady progress reports during the last months. Maybe it could also occur to you that at the same time Iīm just doing something on my free time, and cause thatīs pretty limited things just take time, sometimes more and more time when the exhaustion from it all kicks in. Cause modding always has to come last. wink.gif

So really for the last time, why post all this? Really because, I donīt know what you expect me to post? tongue.gif

You have no idea how ridiculous you sound - well maybe you have, if you can imagine working on something on your free time for over 6 months, mostly trying to AVOID posting too much to get something done instead, at the same time feeling the work pressure from your actual job, the guilt from not spending enough time on school work, and the FEAR of eventually snapping before itīs all done, so that all the efforts by you and all those who helped you would be wasted?

And there YOU are, some guy from somewhere, appearing out of the blue, stating itīs all a lie. You know that actually sounds GOOD! I mean I wish I could trade - it would be so much easier! But no, here I sit, in the middle of the night, trying to write a damn paper about Abloy, hoping I get some time to mod tomorrow before working on my C++ school project work for the rest of the week - itīs even more boring than this paper.

Cause I want the damn MOD ready before Christmas, I have promised to post a preview movie but now I donīt know if I should just post a crappy movie or waste 12h on that, or skip entirely the movie and spend 12h on modding, and at the same time I should start a new real life work project, pass all these courses at school and get all those papers filed. But you know, it would be so nice to actually play the game at Christmas....I havenīt played it in 6 months cause I want the mod ready. sad.gif

Oh, hereīs the thread link, I fetched it for you, should have all kinds of interesting stuff:

http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...pic=1041793&hl=

And no hard feelings, you actually made me smile. smile.gif But someone else might take it differently, so please try to keep your emotional outbursts to yourself - we have lost so many good modders because of posts like that. wink.gif

I have given this file my endorsement.

Now I have it all - Hybrids, Meshes, Hires.

Great work man, thanks for uploading it all to Nexus for more convenient download! smile.gif

Ok, thanks for the reply it means the most! smile.gif

At least now I know where I stand, itīs no problem I can redownload them all from Nexus if I have to. Iīm currently downloading the last pack from storage.to, but Iīll simply choose the option that comes available first. smile.gif

The amount of work you must have put into this is crazy, thank you so much. smile.gif

Hey, the Hybrid Normal part2 download is broken (the link on your webpage).

It tries to start the download, but the says "Download failed, please try again later".

Since the parts 1,3,4 has downloaded just fine this far I suspect the file is missing or something.

COULD SOMEONE PLEASE UPLOAD HYBRID NORMALS PART 2? Even if just temporarily. Please..

Man, you shouldnīt name the parts like "1_of_11", "2_of_11".

At least for me, this prevented 7z from understanding that the parts belonged together. After I renamed each part the same, the only different being the ".001", ".002"...extension, they extracted just fine.

I understand that uploading - not to mention the work itself - is a HUGE task you have made just for our pleasure, so Iīm saying this simply so that more people can enjoy your work. smile.gif

Another "tip" would be to make the extension renaming directions a bit more accurate. I didnīt have any "extra" extension, instead I was MISSING the ".001" etc extension.

I had to pack a test file which 7zip to see how it names the parts, to figure out how the extensions should be. To be clear, every downloaded part had simply single ".7z" as extension.

Thanks for all your hard work, hopefully this post saves someone some headache. smile.gif

Actually that post was just reposting the patch link. smile.gif

But hmm, that kind of behavior either relates to a problem with having non-updated version of the game, and trying to use a mod which requires the latest patch, OR, you havenīt activated the esm file. The horse combat esm is required, technical thing.

Thatīs all I can think of really, if a mod used by so many others doesnīt even load for you, itīs either something in your setup/game or how the mod is installed.

THE PATCH HAS BEEN REUPLOADED, see the description tab for a link.

DR6 is almost done, see the description page for a link to a thread with some information.

Iīm sorry that Iīm so busy I have hardly any time to mod, let alone post about my mods. So Iīm focusing the time I have on working on the update, thatīs why many questions go unanswered and thereīs little to no public info about the next update.

But see the thread, Iīll posting all new info into it as well. smile.gif

Guys, if someone knows the author of this mod, I have tried to ask him for permission to include a couple of these animations in Deadly Reflex.

Deadly Reflex 6 somewhat overhauls the powerattacks and uses third person animations in 1st person, so I have had to edit the animations I used myself, to make them work in 1st person.

The work is done, Iīm just missing the permission, as including my edited versions is the only way to use even some of these animations with Deadly Reflex 6. I hope someone could forward (translate?) my humble request to the auhor. smile.gif

Iīm updating this mod tonight with an info-feature:

Clicking a skill in the skill list turns the info window text to show how much and which attributes affect the skill.

@yutgurt:

Yup, the next DR update should be released in June, the changes and new features include 1st person legs and acrobatics becoming a kick skill, with three new kicks. smile.gif

@lord_corellon:

Well in normal Oblivion blade skill really isnīt dependant on anything, strength just gives some extra damage, also with this mod.

What this mod does, is that it indeed makes Blade skill somewhat dependant on Speed and Agility, as if those are low, your blade skill drained so that itīs lower than what it would be with equal Agility and Speed.

More over, having the average of agility and speed higher than blade skill fortifies the blade skill in a similar manner (difference in points = boost in percentages). smile.gif

I have given this file a rating of 10

Stubled on this place by accident, without even remembering I had installed it. It was night, and watched in ave in at the light beaming from the lighthouse, with deer playing below on the shadows created by the lamps on the peer.

The most beatiful and beliavable setting I have seen in Oblivion this far. Thank you, this is a very nicely made mod. smile.gif

@sool32:

Thanks! smile.gif

About your concerns, from the description:

"Donīt mind the rest, how hit affects, what the damage is, all the above things will contribute, but in the video the hit effect and and damage are just placeholders."

The damage system will be based on player skills, weapon and COMBINED momentum of your horse, you and your attack. Similarly knockdown will only happen when there is enough momentum. smile.gif

Spaceboy:

Iīm updating things otherwise as well, check out the thread at official forums (http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=954058&st=0&start=0) to see whatīs going on. smile.gif

I admit that I have been hiding away, for the simple reason I ran out of time to support my own mod, and feared the flood of hatemail and negative feedback for not following up with patches fast enough.

Would I have known I had actually uploaded you guys an OLD DEVELOPMENT VERSION as a "hotfix" I would probably have taken the mod down, to tell you the truth, the very idea is so disturbing...

Now, with a couple of days to spare, working on the patch, I have seen your positive support and read your mature feedback, and all I can is thank you, for the support all this time. smile.gif

I really want to get a patch out this weekend, simply because you are nice people - I will not even have time to play myself in a month at least... tongue.gif

Copy from EDIT I made to "Description":

EDIT 12.12.2008 - IMPORTANT!!!!!

The mod is being fixed, and you may experience problems with the base 5.0 version!

The previously uploaded Hotfix was actually AN OLD VERSION.

I have no explanation to how this happened. Iīm currently working on a real patch, which should be out this week.

In the meantime, IF you choose to try out the 5.0 version, replace the esp with the esp here:

http://rs522.rapidshare.com/files/15531057...5_0_testfix.zip

At least itīs actually newer than the Hotfix I accidentally posted here. Again, my apologies, I have no understanding nor excuse. I had to download this file MYSELF to get the most recent version.

I have given this file a rating of 10

AWESOME tool, saved my sorry ass when pre-patched mesh scripts refused to work properly on Vista 64.

With renaming the .patch files to .nif with File Boss, I was able to use those files to create the BAT file for some automatic Pyffi action - knowing that only files that are MEANT to be Pyffied will get the treatment.

Before running the BAT, I swapped the real/full Oblivion meshes folder in place of the .patch files I had used to create the BAT, and now the Automator is running on THEM, ignoring any files that shouldnīt be Pyffied. biggrin.gif

Canīt thank you enough!

People I uploaded the hotfix esp that was originally only posted to official forums to here on TEsNexus.

Iīm sorry for lack of posting, but Iīm currently unable to get my game working and after a week of trying my interest in it is dying out.

I will keep a low profile, keep a week or two total break from anything Oblivion related and then possibly try again...

Anyway, get the hotfix if you havenīt already, sorry it took so long to post it here properly.
